Coached running

The club offers coached running and social runs, led by coaches and run leaders. The cost of the track is included in the membership fee.

Tuesdays lunchtime social: Meet at 13:00 at the Windmill, SW19 5NR. The run is at an easy pace, with the faster runners looping back so the group stays together.

Tuesdays (speed endurance): Meet at 19:00 at Belgrave Hall on Denmark Rd, SW19 4PG. After signing in, we aim to start running soon after 19:00, returning at approximately 20:30. We try to separate runners by pace. Typical distance is 4-8 miles, depending on pace group and session type. In winter evenings we run on the roads, rather than on Wimbledon Common, so please wear high visibility clothing.

Tuesdays (PROtraining): Meet at 19:00 at Parkside Gardens, SW19 5EU. The Intervals are prescribed individually by the coach, according to the athlete’s targets.

Wednesday midweek track: Meet at 19:00 at Home Park Road SW19 8AU.

Member-organised informal running

There are informal longer runs and also slower runs organised by members, leaving from the Wimbledon Windmill on Sunday mornings. These are not club runs subject to club oversight or public liability insurance.

For information on forthcoming member-organised informal running, please join the club’s WhatsApp Community group or speak to another member. If you have any questions, contact the membership representatives.

Windmiler running routes

There are some favourite Windmiler routes that you can run yourself. You can adapt them how you see fit to suit your needs (distance, exact paths taken etc). The routes are designed to help you to enjoy running on the common and finding new places and routes. Or finding out new things about places you knew already!

Adventure running

Adventure running has fast become a huge part of the wider running mix, with trail, fell, ultra, fastpacking and multi-day events becoming almost as popular as road and track running. Getting out and enjoying time moving in the wild is something we can all relate to.

Wimbledon Windmilers has members active in all of these areas, with various long-distance challenges, 100-mile races, national trails, fell races and 24 hour mountain missions completed in the club vest.
